Two pages from Francesco Sansovino's Della Agricoltura Libri Cinque (Venice: Appresso F. Sansovino, et compagni, 1560). The woodcuts are of falaride (panic grass), fumoterre (fumitory), finocchio (fennel), and funghi (mushrooms), and are accompanied by brief descriptions of their medicinal properties. An early reader has annotated the description of fumitory.
