Following lunch at the Freehold Raceway, Arthur Brown, New Jersey Secretary of Agriculture, John F. Tarburton, Delaware Secretary of Agriculture and Christian Herr, representing the Pennsylvania Secretary of Agriculture were supplied with racing colors and competed in a one mile race around the Freehold Raceway track riding sulkies pulled by Standardbred pacers. John Tarburton driving Youra Jinx was the undisputed winner in the time of 2 minutes, 10.2 seconds. Arthur Brown was a distant second and Christian Herr an even greater distant third. Following the race PSPA President. Darryl Biery presented a $500 check to John Tarburton for the Secretary's favorite charity.

Youra Jinx, driven by Jack Tarburton crossed the finish line well ahead of the horse driven by Arthur Brown. Christian Herr's horse was out of camera range.
