Showplace Farm is very different from the other farms visited. It is an elaborately equipped facility to which owners bring their horses for intensive training routines in preparation for racing careers as trotters or pacers. Care and training of each horse is the responsibility of the trainer. Trainers are provided by the owners of the horses. The function of Showplace Farm is provide housing for the horses and the trainers along with all of the elaborate facilities needed to condition, train and otherwise care for horses being prepared for racing careers. The facilities are adequate to house over 300 horses and their trainers at any one time. The farm has a well maintained all-weather track, exercise facilities and even a swimming pool where horses in training may receive special therapy.
