The Philadelphia Society for Promoting Agriculture schedules a spring and fall field trip each year. The 1999 spring field trip was held May 9. Approximately 80 PSPA members and their friends visited three New Jersey horse farms ­ Walnridge Farm, Perretti Farm and Showplace Farm. The trip culminated with a luncheon at the Freehold Raceway followed by a pacer race featuring the Secretaries of Agriculture from Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania as drivers.
