Engraving of the Rev. James Cooke's patent drill machine, with a six share horse-hoe, from the 1790 volume of the Annals of Agriculture. In addition to a description of his all-in-one drill machine and this illustration of it, Cooke includes detailed directions for using the machine, all in the hope of convincing farmers to acquire it for the reasonable price of 12 pounds, 12 shillings.
